Rally at the statehouse!!

The executive board is asking all member to join 589 and other unions on Monday May 11th at 11am on the steps across the street from the Massachusetts State House.

Then at 1:00 PM, the Joint Committee on Transportation will be holding a hearing in the the Gardner Auditorium on the Governor’s MBTA bill, HB 3347, An Act for a Reliable, Sustainable Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.  Click on the following link to view the text of this bill:  Your presence in the State House ― be it talking to your state senator and state representative or your attendance in the hearing ― will send a strong message that we are committed to turning the oldest public transportation system in the nation into the best transportation system in the nation.  Simply put, we are here to help, and we want to help!

Message from the President

As you are all aware, Governor Charlie Baker is in the process of trying to dismantle the MBTA. The Unions need the help and support of all of its members. Some of you were around in the early 90s when the Weld administration was trying to privatize the MBTA. The Unions fought very hard to stop that and we are in for the same battle as before but probably harder this time around.
